10 Reasons to Visit a Trunk Show

The Cooperators Perma Insurance Trunk Show and Sale in Crescent Heights Village is back for a second year with art, music, shopping and fun. Here are 10reasons you should mark it in your calendar:

One-of-a-kind products. Searching for a unique gift, piece of jewellery or artwork for your home? Look no further; you’ll find a wide variety of all of the above, at all price points. Last year, our Trunk Show featured teenage artisans just beginning their craft, all the way to established artists and crafters.

Support Calgarian artists and vendors. Artists, performers, and small businesses exist because of the locals that support them. Shopping small and local literally keeps dreams alive and puts money back into our local economy. Did you know that for every $100 spent at a local business, $68 remains in the community, whereas when you shop at a national chain, only $43 stays local.

Hear the story behind the product. Sometimes, the most interesting thing about a piece of art or jewellery is the story behind it. You can find out the inspiration behind products as you shop, from the makers themselves.

Delicious food and drink. Shop ‘til you almost drop, grab a snack, then shop some more!Crescent Heights Village is home to world-class bubble tea, Japanese barbecue, incredible Indian food, perfectly made lattes, baked goods, craft beer and more. Yep, all here.

Take in local talent. Street performers and musicians will be there, providing entertainment for all ages. An ideal opportunity to dance, sing and laugh along.

Mindful and sustainable consumption. Buying from local artisans helps reduce your environmental footprint and you can feel confident your purchases are ethically-made.

Experience the surrounding businesses in a new way. With outside lanes on participating blocks shut down to street traffic, Crescent Heights Village will enjoy a slower, more leisurely pace during the Trunk Shows.

Get outdoors. What’s better than Calgary’s summer sun? Spend some extra time outside at the open-air market, and when you’re done, take a stroll along the bluffs and enjoy the epic downtown views with a great bubble tea in hand.

Something for everyone in the family. An event that caters to every age is a bit of a unicorn, but an artisan market truly does just that.

Community connection. Celebrating and supporting artisans and local businesses is not just fun, it’s a fantastic way to build a sense of community too. We can’t wait to see you!
